Installed a Rev Tech 6 speed in my 06 FLHTCUI in 2010. Has been a problem since day one. Dealer r/r the gear set 4 times for hard shifting issues. The last time the main bearing locked up on the highway. I called Custom Chrome many times since NOV 2012 and never heard for them, as they never helped my dealer with any replacement support. They suck.
Back when we owned a shop ( 96 to 03,) we were a Custom Chrome Dealer and did sell a couple of trannys.
I remember a 4 speed that apparently locked up on the customer and and Custom Chrome replaced the entire unit immediately with no questions asked. It seems foolish to ignore a customer who is suffering from repeating issues now. Why isn't your Seller/Dealer/Installer making the calls for you?
I installed a 6 speed Rev Tech in my 03 Deuce. Like others, I had nothing but issues. It pop out of gear at every stop. I had other issues as well ie; hard shifting. I called Rev Tech and was told the unit had been bench tested at the factory and was fine. They refuse to help me stating for me to contact the seller. Finally, my indy pulled the the unit, shaved gears and did what ever to fix ( not being a mechanic, I cannot tell what all he did) but it finally started to work. I would never by a Rev Tech product again mainly due to the lack of customer service.
Great thread,
as a non user, seeing all of their adds, I would have assumed them to be a good outfit to deal with. So much for name recognition, kinda sounds like "Bose" in the audio world. All of their revenue is spent on marketing and name recognition has built them a lucrative company.
Hopefully they get you squared away, for in this day and age I wouldn't think companies can last long with bad press.

Very informative, I was thinking of updating My FXE 4 spd with the kit They sell with starter, belt drive, 6 spd trans, and all that is required to do the swap. It looked and was advertised as a nice kit, maybe not so. I guess I'll have to look into this more or go with the others suppliers mentioned. If a deal seems too good to be true, maybe it is. ndfrspd
Man, I must be lucky. I got one in my 03 bagger, behind a pretty stout 95" engine. I beat the crap out of it and its been great. Had a little noise in the beginning, put some Redline Heavy gear oil in it, quieted it down and shifts great. I did the install myself and was pretty simple. Gotta go knock on wood...
I'm no fan of revtec but had one put in my 2000 RK when the 5 speed went south. No problems and I really like the ratios better than those in my '09 EG. I have no experience with CC support but they have been around awhile?
