Im looking for some help or input about what to do with these BUB exhaust tips that are peeling and flaking off. I dont have enough cabbage to throw a new exhaust on her. Here is a few pics. My Bike is a 99 and these crappy looking tips are going to drive me nuts. I was told I might be able to remove the baffles but I dont know how, and another guy told me to take a wire brush to the tips... but I dont think that will look every nice. any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
Is there not a screw on the bottom side of those tips where they can be removed?
The chrome has been the bane of many a rider/bike owner and yes they look like crap when the chrome starts to peel off.
The guy suggesting the wire brush was maybe hinting at speeding the chrome removal process and maybe prepping it for a quick rattle can paint job on the tips.
You might save up scratch for a powder coating of the end caps , but in the tween time, why not rattle can them black, cheap easy fix.
Just my .02 opinion this morning.
Back to you,
Rob
There is a screw on the bottom... but the tips are either connected to the whole inner baffel or they are stuck in there with something becasue after I remove the screws I cant get anything to budge :/

Take a piece of wood and and tap them out. Get a spray can of black barbeque paint.
You can buy replacement tips if you search the web www.bub.com, or you can remove and clean and paint. Wire wheel on a drill will remove the loose stuff and prime and paint with heat resistant engine paint. Rubber hammer to knock the tips loose after screws are out.
