Well I finally got my Heritage bars installed today. Been procrastinating because its been freakin cold. Still only 35 in the garage but I decided to go for it. First of all many thanks to Dr_jay's picture tutorial on this. Very helpful. Follow it and its cake on a late late road king. Mine is a 2012 rkc so your process may vary. Job is very simple and no special tools needed. Took me about 3.5 hours taking my time. A few notes
.. working in the nacelle not bad at all. Good lighting, patience and no problems. The twist grip green plug was a non issue. Just took my time and the connector came apart easily. I used a exacto knife blade to leverage the little tab so I could pull apart.
First impressions sitting on the bike are good. Much better hand position. Higher and flatter with less wheelbarrow. Again your impressions may be different. Can't wait to fire it up and try them out. Snow flurries and 35. Not gonna go out. Next weekend looks promising and upper 40's. I'll provide some real feedback when I can get out. Almost forgot, I put on a pair of Willie grips. Look good and match my other accessories.
I installed a set on my 2000 flhpi with a tallboy seat. To get the reach right I had to roll the bars back a bit so they are not in line with the forks but man are they comfortable, the wrist angle is perfect.
Completely relieved the pain between my shoulder blades.

Yea, I rolled mine back a bit as well. Feels real good sitting on the bike. Can't wait to try it out. Also, putting on my Vance&Hines twin slash monsters. I can feel that s&*t eating grin coming on already :-)
Thanks to this the folks on this forum for helping to build the confidence needed to do these mods!
The Harley goodies Floorboard extensions are a worthwhile addition and take less than an hour to install. You will like them. The riding season will be here in a week or two
I put a set of late model Heritage bars on my 06 RKC this week. Very happy with them.

Any issues with the install? Just curious. Mine seemed to go really well, but I guess I should hold off boasting until I can fire it up and make sure I didn't screw it up... Seriously, it went well. I can't imagine there are any problems.
Went on very easily. Rode it around a little to adjust the bar angle and then finished reassembling. Took it out for a couple of hours and very happy with the Heritage handlebars:

Just broke down and took it out for a spin around town. First time out since November... New heritage bars feel great. New JRI 13" are leaps and bounds over stock air shocks but I think they are set a bit stiff or maybe just cold oil and not broken in yet. Got them set at 16 clicks out on the sweep. The new V&H Twin slash monsters sound great. Bike seems to pull harder than last year with the new mufflers, but it's probably just "new part syndrome". Gotta be faster.. spent 500.00 :-)
