You could always get rid of the stock header pipes and get the VH true duals. I'm running true duals with the VH slash-cut ovals and I love the sound, even at speed.
I was told by a V&H tech rep that the dB difference between the Basic slip-ons and the Big Shot duals was about 6-7dB which is in the range of 20-30% louder.
Sound doubles every 6dB. So they would be twice as loud. But if they weren't that loud to begin with doubling the sound isn't that much of an increase. You have to look at it like this, 1,2,4,8,16,32...etc
