I have a 2013 flhtc, I have had a couple guys tell me that it has a closed loop fuel system, and that if I put slip ons on the bike I will not have to do anything else, any thoughts???
It is closed loop when certain criteria is met. This is a small percentage of the time in the scheme of things.
You will be fine swapping pipes only for all intensive purposes. That is not that drastic of a change and the ECM will compensate. Most people will add pipes, a free flowing air cleaner, and then tune to get as far away from the lean condition the MoCo has them tuned to meet EPA clean burn criteria.
The latter also unleashes the power potential these horses have available.
I.m not sure about that but if you will get someone....To remove the catalyetic converter your bike will run freer and cooler...I wouldnt put the slip ons on untill I did that....

Remove that cat-restricted headpipe first then go to the slipons otherwise you're not going to gain anything other than a tonal change in sound. You have a couple of options there.
Remove your stock headpipe and store it, buy a headpipe with 12mm bungs for o2 sensors like the Fullsac xPipe or others
Take your stock headpipe off, cut open the crossover chamber, remove all that packing then have it welded back.
If you look on ebay there are a few people selling stock de-catted headpipes.
