I spent 2K on a system that melts my face, but Iam deaf in one ear, so I like it loud, a good cheap way to an improvment is HOGTUNES, did not do it for me, bit other guys like them and it does not break the bank. ride safe.
Look in the Audio system section under Harely Tech Forum for all kinds of Ideas for your bike. UltraNutz has a great system for the money, Check out Biketronics website, and Dragonfly, also Arc audio.
Depends on your expectations and budget? Ya can go from a couple 6.5" 2ohm Coax speakers, like from infinity/JBL up to a video screen head unit with 1200+watts driving 6-8 sets of speakers? There are lots of stereo threads out there, here is mine: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...r-my-flht.html

Be prepared for sticker shock. The speakers and head units are what they are, but the adapters and mounts will cost almost as much.
For example, I found a nice Kenwood stereo and Polk 6.4" coax speakers for ~$150.00 total. It would cost ~$300.00 to put them in the fairing using Biketronics retro radio install kit and Cycle Sounds adapter rings. And that doesn't take anything else into account, like amps, splash shields, wiring, etc.
