Good luck on the spring install. Hey man, remember to wear some eye protection. Working components under that pressure can cause chips and slips that can turn nasty if your eye is involved.

I had one break while on a road trip. Used a bungee to hold until I got to the dealer to buy a new one. Got cardboard scraps from garbage to put under crashbars,removed right saddlebag, laid bike on the right side and installed the spring. It is one of those times when you are quite happy that you did not give in to looks and removed the crashbars.Now I carry a spare.

that sounds like alot of work to go through , would think somebody standing around would give you a hand for 5 min and hold the bike for you

I just put my on today by jacking it up, using vise grips and pulling on it....no special tools needed.
