Kickstand Spring Question
I let my 99 FXDWG down of the lift tonight from
putting on new tire and back pulley and when i did i
heard this spring noise and i looked and i had knocked
off the spring for the kickstand. Anyone have any
idea how to hook it back, its soooo stiff i can barely
spread it apart.

Is there a "stop" bolted onto the top of the kickstand? If so, remove the bolt, remove the stop, rotate the kickstand forward, attach the spring, rotate back to original position, reinstall the stop.

i knock the spring off my sportster about every other time i jack it up you must reinstall the spring with the k-stand in the riding position it kinda hard and the jack has to be positioned so the kickstand can retract. i use a drumbrake tool to pry it back in place. ive done it enough now its pretty easy!

a trick i heard of,not tried yet.---put one end of spring in vice bend one way ,put dimes in between coils. turn over ,bend other way,put quarters between coils. spring should now fit. put kickstand down,change will fall out.
