buying an engine on ebay - remember this
ok, you want to buy an engine on ebay but have concerns over what will happen after the sale. something to check into. look at the sellers selling activity and if there is no recent sales volume , your payment to the seller will get put on hold by ebay until either you leave positive feedback or 21 days have passed. So becareful about all of the sudden the seller sending you a message saying he has to go out of town for two weeks and can't ship til he gets back. what really happend was he got notified of the newb payment on hold provision and decided he wants to try to wait til the payment clears (the 21 days from purchase). If you get caught in this sand trap, wait 8 days and submitt an item not recieved case. seller has 7 days to respond. if he does not respond with a tracking number, esculate the case to a claim. ebay will ask the seller if the item was shipped and provide tracking, when that fails, you will get a refund. You kind of have to ask yourself what the quality of the engine is if the seller will only ship if you have no recourse on the transaction.

There are crooks and scams everywhere these days because people would rather rip off other hard working people than get a real job. I got burned a couple of years ago for about $2k. I trust no one any more, I mean no one.

Added protection for the buyer,I have close to 700 transactions on ebay and all has gone well.Check out sellers feedback and do some research so you don't get screwed.

I have close to 700 feedback also. I figure that in the slim chance in the future I get screwed, I'll still be money ahead, way ahead. I'm pretty a cheap Canadian and try to get the best deal on something and usually it's fleabay and always in the U.S.
