I've had mine for almost a year. Other than baked on road grime and the EPA tune bluing the right side pipe before I could get the PCV, no issues with the mufflers.
Could anyone who got the replacement update us with their new exhausts?
I came across this thread when I decided to get the CFRs at the end. I checked with many suppliers and most of them are out of stock but my name was put on pre-order list.
I have 4500 miles on mine..They still look new!! No problems with chrome bubbling, peeling or rusting..I bought mine in March of 2013..
Peace and Prayers
I'm curious as to why the OP has not updated this thread or posted pics. These types of things happen every so often with chrome and even black ceramic pipes. I had an issue with mine from Rush and they took care of me. I'd imagine CFR will do/has done the same.
I had problems with my end caps peeling. I decided to contact them via email. Less than 5 minutes later I got a response asking for pics. Once pics where sent, they said "When you are ready, please send both exhaust to the address below and we will replace the end caps at no charge as long as they are not scarred or damaged in anyway." Can't really beat that. I'll be sending them off soon.
My only concern is if I spend double for a set of mufflers I shouldn't HAVE to worry about great customer service when there is a problem...
Yes, double, Jackpot 4" on Jamie's website: $359, From cfr's website the CFR-FLH008DF's are $697...
NOR should I have to be without my bike for two weeks while I wait for a company to fix a problem.
Send it in, we'll fix it? Not if I just paid premium pricing for a "superior" product, I shouldn't have to let my scoot lean on it's kickstand for two weeks so a company can fix something that I paid extra to avoid in the first place.
I had a problem with one of my Rush TD heat shields on my '11 FLTRU. I called Katfish, after discussion, he sent me a brand new heat shield, no charge, with a box and prepaid label to send him the old one back AFTER I recieved the new one. THAT is customer service.
I'm not saying CFR isn't awesome, I'm just a potential customer reading reviews and sharing his thoughts....
My 2 cents worth, if you will... and probably ain't worth that much.
