Default Head pipes ?

A friend just bought a new 2013 Road Glide Ultra. He wants to get rid of the cat so which head pipes are the most effective and cost efficient? He has slip-ons to use but needs the head pipe. Thanks! Oh yea, he did join the "dark side"......

cost effective; remove the cat from his headers.

lots of threads and a photo tutorial on this procedure

He might be wise to leave the bike as is while the warranty is in effect.

I can personally recommend the jackpot 2-1-2 from FuelMoto. Easy to install. Great support from Jamie and the FuelMoto guys. While he is at it, FuelMoto high flow air cleaner, however, then he will need a new tune for the increased air flow. I would recommend a power vision tuner. First things I did to my then brand new 2012 rkc. Nice power gain and no more burnt leg from the cat. Pretty low risk and big gain for the $$. Have him give FuelMoto a call...

He has options. He can keep his stock header and have the catalytic converter removed. It's located on the right side just aft of where the O2 sensors are located. He can replace the stock header with one of three configurations: 2 into 1, 2 into 1 into 2, or a 2 into 2.

He can enjoy his bike for a while by simply just changing out the mufflers for better sound. Then later after he has thought about options, pull the trigger on a header choice.

No need to rush into anything. Research the options.
