First off thanks for welcoming me to the forum. I have been without a bike for the last couple years and now I'm looking at getting a new street glide. I was intending on buying new but came across a interesting deal on a 09 x. What I was wanting to know is what are all the changes that have been made from 09 to current. I am aware of several but I'm sure there are people here who know more than me. I know of the 103 upgrade, 18 inch front wheel, o2 sensors are different but could use some info on that. I guess there is a differance in the cats? And ride height? So any info on the listed items would be great and please inform me of anything I'm missing. Thanks
09 is a good year, unless it's a California bike it doesn't have the cat in the header, you can find the 18" take off wheel for a couple hundred if you're patient. It's a 96 instead of a 103, but if you can get it for a good price that leaves you enough $$ for better engine upgrades. What's the interesting deal?
Unless you're getting a substantial price break, you're better off getting a new bike. If you press hard enough there are deals to be found on new bikes. And, you get to break it in yourself.
lol well here we go!!! its a vivid black 09 with 3k miles. looks good runs good rides good has s&s pipes stage 2 a/c 4 post quick connect with sissy bar and luggage rack. oh and it was dyno tuned, but I couldn't find a power commander or anything? anyway, it has a rebuilt title!!! it was repaired by a dealer that does a lot of rebuild bikes locally. all parts were replaced with factory hd prepainted parts, the rebuilder doesn't do any inhouse painting. the only mechanical parts that were replaced due to damage is the exhaust and inner and outer primary cover, so im told. the guy that has the bike now bought it with 2k on it from the bike shop and now it has 3400. I spoke with the dealer that rebuilt the bike and he said he uses a frame jig on all his repair bikes and assures me the bike was true when it left his shop. I have spoke with my bank and my insurance company and I believe I can make it happen but my intentions were to buy a new one. used bike doesn't get as good as a intrest rate and I cant finance it for as long so im stumped on what the right move is? 13k sounds better than 20k but I usually buy my bikes new. what are your thoughts, I could really use some help on this one.
13 grand for a rebuilt seems high i would pay the extra and get what you really want
No surprises factory warranty and you get to break her in too
