A pal of mine had black chrome drag pipes on a XLX, Do any aftermarket companies still offer black chrome exhaust? They looked great!

I'm thinking about Black Ceramic coat on the pipes, but run the stock covers.

Do the rocker box covers, leave the box chrome. Get some polished. S/S hardware for a tasteful contrast.

I really have a good excuse to get the heads opened up now that I started the black covers. Gonna have take the rocker-boxes, push-rod tubes and lifter blocks off to get them done black and the heads are right there...
Not sure on the shiny hardware???
