You can get one of these for about $250 I installed mine and programmed it on all of 20 minutes. My bike rides like a dream. Smooth power all over the throttle in every gear.
The bike has been at the dealer for a few weeks now. They needed to replace the ECM and had to wait for Extended Warranty to appraise the situation and approve the new ECM. I got a report about a week ago that they were still having problems with the bike and thought they had been sent a faulty ECM. They did some more searching... TURNS OUT that the wire to the MAP sensor was rubbing and would short out sporadically. They replaced both the wire and the MAP sensor to be safe. They say the bike is running great now.
Well, like the title of this thread says... the saga continues.
I rode the bike today, it runs great, none of the problems I had before, no sputtering... but, about 20 min. into riding, both the check engine and battery light came on and stayed on.
I checked the codes and these two came up:
P0132 - Front Oxygen Sensor High
P0562 - Battery Voltage Low
I'm not sure about the first code, but I know the 2nd one has to do with the stator and regulator. The dealer replaced both the stator and regulator this last time the bike was there, so I'm stumped as to why it would throw this code.
I have a 04 Electra Glide with a S&S 124 from Star Racing. My motorcycle sputters and backfires real bad when it heats up. It barely takes off at red lights when the sputtering starts. It seems to stop if i get on the gas but starts back up again. I've changed map sensor, throttle position sensor, CKP Sensor, changed plugs because the bike was running lean, and changed wires. It seems to run fine when the motor is cool. It ran ok when i initially changed the plugs but started right back. Very frustrated with this problem. Seems to be something simple, just can't figure out the problem and im tired of wasting my money on sensors. Please help if you have any knowledge on the problem im having. It will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
i just finished reading your entire thread, the only advice i can offer, if you can afford it, now is the time to trade. You have invested a lot of time and been diligent in trying to find the problem. Sometimes you have to just cut your losses and move on. This is one of those times. I am truly sorry no one has been able to fix the problem, but i rather ride than continue to deal with this type of issue. Being in CA, if you enounter this issue in high speed traffic, it is a safety issue, trade, move on and be happy.
