Well my red Sears jack has failed...with the bike on it!! Just put pipes on it and the snow has melted and I can't even take it out to start it up!! Scrambling now to find a hyd shop to rebuild the cylinder.
Just wondering did you not have it resting on the locks instead of the hydraulic cylinder?
(also can't resist) In order to see if the yellow HF jack I own is accident prone, a while ago I started a thread asking for descriptions of jack mishaps. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...jack-wars.html The responses make clear that mishaps are almost 100% operator error, generally owing to not using the non-hydraulic lock or not tying the bike down.
That was my point exactly in post 45. Jack threads are about like oil threads. (and I love em! )
Also amazes me that in all the pics in this thread I don't see any straps holding the bike to the jack.
They're light blue in my pic, always strap when I lift. Strap fore and aft on standard types, just a front strap does fine on the high lift, bike doesn't rock front to back on that, even pulling a rear wheel.
Emotional?? Did you not know that 90% of bikers have a period starting Nov 1 and ends May 1. What would you expect someone to be with a 6 month period.
