I love my j&s jack. My garage floor is very rough and uneven.I can roll my bike around without having to strap it down or worrying about dropping it.Very stabile.

Im with the J@S crowd. I keep my bike up in the air all winter. I can sleep at night without worry. My wife and I travel alot in winter mainly Hawaii. So I don't want any thing happening while I'm away. Also nothing against HF went in the store once and left I wouldn't buy a bottle of water there or anything else. When it comes to my bike I am not skimpy. Nothing wrong with them just not for me is all

My jack looks the same as the yellow HF jack discussed here but mine is red. I am wondering if the red Crapsman and the yellow HF are one in the same. Mine was a hand me down from my brother, not sure where he got it, but I have had it for about 10 years now and so far, aside from the fast down rate (which I have learned to control) it hasn't let me down yet.

RK: Yours is the HF jack correct? What are the stirrup looking things on it I see in the HF Ad?

Another positive review for the yellow harbor freight motorcycle lift with over 2 years of regular use. Very stable, reliable, and not cheap feeling.. I concur with others it doesn't roll effortlessly, but I seldom move it more than a few feet, if at all.

For the fast descent comments, there are two speeds. If you hold the pedal down partially, it comes down quickly. Depress the pedal completely and it lowers quite slowly.

Harbor Freight isn't top shelf tools for professionals, but for home owners and light duty, a very viable option. At 1/3 the price of others, no complaints at all and recommended.

(Can't resist.) I have an old Red Craftsman. It has never failed me through cam changes, tire changes, exhaust swaps and winter storage, and the bike happens to be up on it now. I also have a Handy B.O.B. 1500 lb lift. So no comments about being cheap. All that said, everybody knows it is not whether you have the most expensive jack or the cheapest jack; it is the KIND OF OIL YOU PUT IN IT!!!!. I use "super-syn-dino-extra-virgin- crisco-extra-mileage" in my Sears and it continues to perform flawlessly!!

How much pumping is involved to get it that high? 1 min 2 min 20 min... I always have bikes apart and the lift might be tied up, looks like a decent 2nd jack. Mike

(also can't resist) In order to see if the yellow HF jack I own is accident prone, a while ago I started a thread asking for descriptions of jack mishaps. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...jack-wars.html The responses make clear that mishaps are almost 100% operator error, generally owing to not using the non-hydraulic lock or not tying the bike down.

Here's the big question. Who runs the bike on the jack?? I used to when I had a soft tail. I'm scared to death to do it with a dresser.
