Actually it wasn't so bad, with the sun shining, and no wind, it's pretty sweet. A couple of buddies who thought I was crazy for riding...well guess who's coming with me tomorrow.
Yuppp.
Nice, sometimes its good to get out and ride in the cold. I never put my bike away during the winter honestly. I ride at least once a week. But then again I am happy to climb into a tree stand at 5am when its in the teens and sit for hours.
I have had my bike out every month so far. I try to get at least 1 ride in each month of the year!
I rode in to work yesterday, it was 42 degrees when I left in the morning, but was 65 degrees at 5pm when I left for home. 75 miles out and 75 miles back. I had just a few layers on, but also had Gerbings heated gear for the morning ride.
Man these were some good replies. Interesting reading who does what in colder weather. Good thing is since my original post it's been climbing in temps here and I've been on the bike every day since. DAMN it feels good. Funny story, just last night I was heading out to my local hotdog joint with my 9 year old. The sun was pretty much down and the temps were declining as well. I left it up to my son and asked him "Do we bundle up and ride, or just take the car?" And like a trooper with a huge grin he looks at me and says "Take the bike!!" So I wrapped him up good and we went to our favorite hotdog place to share a gyro plate and fries. Some of my favorite rides are heading to good greasy spoon places and taking the long way home with my son. Love it!!
