Dad died at 53 (that's him in the picture above, just back from Korea with his '47). We never got to go riding together when he was alive. Now that I'm almost 50, I feel like we ride together quite a bit.

No brothers and my dad passed when I was almost 17. He had just turned 51.

I remember when we were all together, he'd drive passed the Harley shop in Dallas and look at them. We were pretty poor but I know if we could have afforded it, I'm sure he'd have gotten one.

Enjoy the time you have with your family. We don't all pass at an old age.

Well, in '04 after an outing with my brother and father to dream about motorcycles and just enjoy each others company, my father bought an '03 883r for him, an '04 883XL for me, and an '04 Buell Blast for my brother. We did some great riding together in the Mobile, AL area and it was lots of fun. In '05 dad bought him an Ultra and that summer we rode to NC for the dragon and back. Haven't been any big trips since then. Brother moved to Orlando, I moved to Eustis in '08. Brother is bikeless now after a bad accident, but will ride again someday. He's had some bad luck with jobs, but seems to be stable once again. I recently traded that sporty for a 2011 e-glide classic, it is awesome. Well as luck would have it this year I work in a different school district than my wife works in and my kids go to school, so we have different spring breaks!

To shorten the story, my Dad trailered his Ultra to Eustis and we are leaving for the Florida Keys on Monday!

Dad is no where near the bike type. Brother says he'll get one "eventually" but don't see it happening. So plan "B" for me. My 9 year old son rides with me A LOT and LOVES it. I'm sure as he gets older he'll get into one, and he and I will ride together. But I got quite a few years for that.

Dad died when I was 11 - I'm the only rider on my side of the family. From the wife, though, I've got 3 BILs, a SIL, 5 nephews and a niece that all ride. Never been able to get the whole bunch together, but 3 or 4 of us will ride 7 or 8 times a year. Only people that I'll group ride with.

My son has ridden dirt bikes with me since the age of 4, he is almost 20 now. When he turned 16 in 2010 and got his drivers license I got the wife to sign off on a '06 Super Glide for his first street bike. It’s hard raising a son these days and it seems that we are always butting heads. Riding has always been our connection be it in the dirt or now on the street. We have done numerous long rides together and also many trips with the wife and his sister two up.
There is no better feeling than seeing my son in the rear view or chasing his tail light for that matter.

My dad and I been riding together about ten years. He is my best ridding buddy. We live about 5 hours away from each other which sucks. The only motorcycle regret I have is not buying his 03 heritage softail for the trade in cost they offered him when he bought an 11 UC Limited. I stayed with my VTX. Last summer I rode his bike and that VTX days were numbered. I picked up an 03 EG Classic last month. He lost a bunch of weight for health reasons so I'm looking forward to a few more years meeting up for rides. This season we are both on Harleys!
