Ok i still can not keep my brake lights from coming on maybe someone else out there has had the same issue as mine. I have a 07 ultra classic and this is what i have done to date.
The problem started right after i changed my front brake pads. I thought i had broken the switch so i changed the switch... still have the problem, while it is better and i just have to give my brake lever a little forward nudge it will turn off the brake light. i have lubed the piston for the master cylinder i have completly bleed the system. Could it be a weak spring in the master cylinder or possibly a worn lever?
When you took the switch assembly apart, did you make sure that the copper "V" shaped dealie (don't know the technical name, sorry) is well situated behind the brake light switch? That helps keep the switch in position. I took a picture of mine before I tore it apart to make sure I reinstalled it correctly, but I've since deleted the pic. Sorry.
It's either not enough pressure in the line or try pushing the assembly closer together. I'm sure you know, but the brake lever MUST press the button to keep it off.
