I had a Biomet Oxford Uni Knee installed in December of '11. 10 days later I was at the surgeons office and he told me to come back in 6 weeks. I loaded the bike on my trailer, stopped by the pharmacy to get my scripts filled, and headed to Daytona Beach to break in the new knee. Spent 6 weeks walking the beach, riding my uncles beach cruiser bike, and riding my motorcycle. As for the knee, going down stairs and having the new knee behind me was tough at first and riding a bicycle bringing my new knee over TDC on the pedals was hard at firsdt. Motorcycle riding has never been an issue. My new knee is much tighter than the old 1 and I feel more secure now than before. My surgeon even told me it was impossible to hurt the new knee so I push it when I can. The only thing I continuwe to have trouble with is that funny feeling in my knee cap when I am on my knees. I use that 1 to my advantage with the wife by asking her to ....
I had a total knee replacement, best thing I`ve done in a while. No more pain with every step and I ride every chance I get, short trips or all day, absolutely no issues.
Physical therapist here. As long as your therapist and you did the exercise and your knee is strengthened up then you will have no problems at all. What's your range of motion like? Was it atleast 100-115 degrees? If so and you can walk up and down stairs step over step then you'll be fine.
I had a total knee replacement in January. I'm getting a little older and can't seem to get my strength built up in the upper leg. Going up and down stairs is a bit difficult. I use the stairs as well as go to the gym. I'm trying to get some strength, don't want my hog to over power me at a stop. I haven't ridden yet, getting anxious.
