I must add a correction. It actually feels like the clunking is coming from underneath and is transfered into my floorboards. Not actually coming from the floorboards. Thanks for your help folks.

have you checked to see if your heat shield has slipped down or is hitting you floorboard right where it attaches to the bike..it can be a constant or intermittent clunk or vibration. i have had it happen twice when changing out exhaust. those worm clamps can come loose.

I have checked but thats not to say I didnt check good enough. I will check again and also look to see if the exh may be hitting somewhere else. I have done some exh work here lately so its possible. Thanks

Trucks have floorboards, bikes have foot boards.

You should check all of the mounting hardware under the foot boards to ensure they are tight. Check to see that your header's exhaust flange nuts are tightened to spec as well as all heat shield band clamps. Check that the header to transmission bracket fastener is tight.

I vote for exhaust touching. It can move quite a bit when the motor is moving and you're moving down the highway.

You should have at least 1/4" clearance there. If it is hitting you'll see marks on the floor board mounts also. I fought this same issue when I went to the cycle smith Bannana Boards. Just needed to add an extra spacer. It's a design fault of the V&H not the boards.
