Making me crazy. Vibes in floorboards Definatly driveline. At speed pull in clutch and drop revs it goes away. Tightened top stabilizer still there. Went through entire exhaust. Still there. Pulled primary and found compensator bolt a little loose. Inspected compensator ( looks great) re- installed and torqued bolt. Havent ridden it yet but im sure its still there. WTF? Any ideas guys. Pullin my hair out.
Have you up graded to the SE compensator yet, or is it the stock OEM comp. If so, that may be your problem.
Glide I did the same thing, I upgraded my comp and I helped a little. I usually don't put my feet on the floor boards anyways so I don't notice it. I's more of a buzz type vibe if that makes sense. But I've put over 23,000 miles on mine no problems.
have you checked your heatshields on the exhaust? i recently had my SG start doing this and had same symptoms as you are describing and found that to be the problem. i didnt get them high enough and when motor shook it was making contact. worth the time to check the simple things first
Been through whole exhaust. Nothing even close to contacting. Had compensator out last night and found very slight galling on contact surfaces but nothing to make me think there is a problem. Stock compensator, not SE version. Bike has about 15000 miles on it. Rinehart slip ons and stage one filter, download and xieds.
have yo urecently changed the tires? maybe out of balance. i know you said it goes away when clutch is pulled in but just thinking of any causes. has this gradually coming on or just all of the sudden started happening?
You didn't say if these vibs have always been there or if they have just suddenly appeared.
That's kind of important to know for us to help you troubleshoot.
And...just for the sheer improvement...I would have upgraded the compensator since you had it apart anyway. The stock one is very minimal to say the least.
have the same thing on a 2013 CVO road king. I haven't pulled the clutch to see if it goes away. It is there at some speeds/RPM's and not at others. I notice mine most at low speeds/gears ( 2nd or 3rd gear) 25-35MPH. Haven't found any reason for it yet either
Just had this happen in Sturgis. Drove me nuts. I could not figure it out. On the way home, my whole shifter assembly fell off. Heel/Toe/Rod and spacer. The culprit was the rear bolt closest to the engine that the long connecting rod connects to. Check that ASAP.
