Shook hands with a Harley dealer on an '03 Cop Glide, 32000 miles for $8500. Went back the next day to pony up the dough, and the bastard sold it out from under me, an hour after I'd left.
Pissed off, I started searching again, and found an '07 EG Standard for $9000. Now I'm happier than a two peckered puppy in a stud farm! It'll still be about 6 weeks till I can go get it, and the anxiety is killing me!
I have a 93 Yamaha Virago XV1100 that I've kinda got sold to a guy I work with. I'm gonna continue riding it till I get the Harley. I built a single carb intake for it, and used a press on flange to bolt up a 1200 Sportster carb (rejetted), and the Yamaha runs like a bat outta hell..... On the one hand, I might miss the 'Rago, but prolly only till I set the cruise on the EG and ride 600 miles gettin her to her new home!
I plan to give it a SE255 cam upgrade, and I'll need a set of lower fairings. Other than that, I think it's perfect. It's the one I've searched for for a long time! Eventually, she'll be a 103", but it'll be a while down the road before I can hemorrhage the cash for that. I have 5 kids that think they gotta eat.
Congrats. Sounds like you got a good deal on the '07. I'm an appreciator of the 1911 myself.
Thanks! I have 2 Glocks (21 & 30), and 3 1911's - Colt Officer's for primary carry, Remington for fun & IDPA, and an el cheapo for the door pouch of the pickup or Jeep (next to the hatchet). I love the Glocks for the combat reliability, they're the AK of the handgun world, but the 1911's..... well, they fit my smaller hands better, they're just damn sexy, and the heritage just can't be argued. Gotta figure out how to mount a holster to the Glide.
The '07 has about 41k miles, but the transmission had a main shaft rebuild about 1000 miles ago. It's got Cobra 2 into 1 exhaust with FuelPak.
Had the same exact thing happen to me on my first bike. I ended up with a lower mileage, newer model for less money. Bike ran great until some old lady locked them up in front of me for no reason...
