Default Stretched bags considering lowering kit

I just put new hard bags on my 06 RoadKing. I think it looks a little high plus I'm only 5'08" and considering lowing the bike about an inch but I'm worried my new bags with a 4" stretch may scrap. I also heard the ride is a little stiffer when you lower the bike.

Any guidence or personal experience would be appreciated.... Thx

Dont do it until you have the cash for air ride! I lowered mine with the cheap lowering blocks and I scrapped all the time. Switched over to the Arnott air ride for $600, and have not scrapped since... and the ride quality is 1000 times better!

A RK has 13" shocks vs a SG has 12". You can lower yours an inch or a little more with little worries. Air ride systems are the ideal choice but are spendy. There are other options out there that work fine but you may find yourself upgrading at some point down the road.

Thx air ride sounds like an option to look into. I don't mind the cost as long as it does not mess up the ride... That's partly why I love my road king its a smooth ride. So guess with the air ride I could adjust to whatever height I want?

Yes it is height adjustable... depending on how much weight is on the bike obviously... if you are riding 2 up and want to keep a good quality ride then you will obviously need to raise it up. Honestly my air ride is probably the best $ I've spent on my bike.
