Default Lowering kits & saddle bags

I just bought a 2007 FXD. It sits a little high for me and I would like to lower it at least 1 1/2". I see some of the lowering block kits, not all, say 'NOT FOR USE W SADDLE BAGS'. Are there any lowering blocks or kits that I CAN use w bags? Are there any that are recommended/approved by HD or HD mechanics? Also, how much does this effect ride/shock travel? I live in Upstate NY and our roads are notoriously crappy.

Thanks to everyone

Rob

It depends on what bags you get. Our LP3100 series for Dynas will work with the lowering blocks because we molded the back to make room for the shock being moved rearward and the extra swingarm travel.

Keep ridin'

Why not use lower shocks instead of lowering blocks? Keeps the same shock angle. If you buy better quality shocks, the ride shouldn't get much worse. I had the burleys and I found the ride pretty harsh though... Not that the stock shocks are anything to write home about.

My wifes 09 Super Glide has the harley bags on it and we dropped it down an inch using the Progressive shocks. I don't think that extra half inch you would notice, unless you are really short legged.

No problems with the bags or the Progressive shocks.
