'10 RK Won't start with the fob present. Changed the battery and when that didn't work changed the fob to no avail. If I use the security code it starts fine. All wires and connections seem to be clean and tight. Any way beside going to the dealer or replacing the TSSM to diagnose ? Thanks for any help.
Could be a fuse for the TSSM, looking at the wiring diagram it is fused.
Thanks, didn't think about that. I'll check it but it did give me the same problem once and did start after multiple trys but could be corrision at the connection. Fingers crossed.
Process takes 30 min to do on your own but if your install was factory you probubly dont need to remarry the tssm.
OK , Thanks. I don't think it has to re-learned as I have no trouble using the code to start it. Gonna check the fuse in a little while and will post if anything changes .
Here's an update: Just went and started the bike. No problem. I had ridden a few days ago and thought the battery sounded a little weak as in a kickback when cranking , like a bad compensator will do , so I put it on the trickle charger which showed a little low. The battery was replaced at the end of last year but I think it is not 100%. I'll have to do a load test on it and find out.
