1999's and early 2000's had a Cam bearing problem. Make sure the previous owner had the correct bearing put in, or plan on doin it yourself. There is tons of stuff written about this issue, a search in the forumns should bring up a lot of info for you. Other than that the bike is OK. Don't ignore that issue though or you could get stranded somewhere.....Joe Mac

Hi Mike I got a 99 Classic myself. They are good cursiers,Get yourself a drivers backrest, it really makes rideing something else. the miles will melt away.
Also learn about the air ride system, it's LOW PRESURE. DO NOT hook up atire inflateingair hose to it! My system works perfect some don't, but I have the HD ir syspension air pump, it's preaty high but I have 2 friends who use it two so it has been worth it for us.
Get yourself a HD manual and yu might want to check out the FixmyHog CDs. They will fimularize you with your bike better than anything else I know. Even if you don't want to do any wrenching yourself, the video will show you alot of the workings of your bike.
I hope you enjoy your bike as much as I have, JB

Congrats on the new ride...

As mentioned above, watch for cam issues. If maintenance records are unavailable, a set of gear-drive's would be the first thing to add to a 'wish-list'

That also gives you a very good excuse to do a 95" kit...
