I want to get rid of the long antenna on my 07 because it hits the rack on the back of the passenger backrest. I have seen some short stubby masts on ebay but wonder what yall have had good luck with. Last time I checked at my local autoparts house they had nothing quite like I was looking for. Thanks.
HD has their Boom hidden antenna...getting ready to install mine to replace the HD shorty. Specs say it's better than original/long & shorty...we'll see...
i had to replace the short antenna on my wife's jeep liberty. it had a little short one like that. the replacement sucked! don't know if it was because it was aftermarket off brand or because it wasn't OEM.
I have tried Hogtunes Hogtenna/Metra amplified hidden antennas with poor results. Shorty wise, I tried a J&M AM/FM (ok) and Advance Auto rubber ducky (bad), before I spent a few $$ more on the shorty Boom audio antenna. This antenna works just about as well as the standard length antenna. A good choice IMO..
I took the stock HD antenna off and cut it exactly in half, and heat shrunk a small piece of black tubing on the tip. Screwed back in place. Works good.
