Not mounted on the engine guard but, I've been running Motolights caliper mount lights on my RG. They are amazing, they really fill in what the headlights miss. Also. my engine guards are clean so I can use my lowers.

I agree with DC. Motolights are the standard among LD riders.

Like I said in another thread, they might be the standard but they're way too friggin' expensive. 2 chrome caliper mounted LED lamps cost $605! I paid $370 for my Trucklite 7 set (headlight + aux. lights) and the difference with stock lights is huge.

Where do they mount up? Also, what's the draw on them?

You mean the Trucklite Phase 7? They replace the stock headlight and auxiliary lights.
The draw is very low, like for all LEDs.
Low beam current draw 1.5 amps (stock halogen is 4.9 amps)
High beam current draw 2.3 amps (stock halogen is 5.5 amps)

Sounds good. I 86ed the standard passing lamps on my Road King. I like the cleaner look of the headlight nacelle. I agree, the Motolights ain't cheap but they're down out of the way and provide good light. If a guy is good with the standard passing light set up, the Trucklites sound like a good deal. The only other thing I can say for the Motolights is that they provide a bigger triangle. Meaning, the distance between the three lights is (allegedly) is greater so this creates better daytime visibility. I don't know if that's true or not.

I love my HD fog lights for their looks, the way they help draw oncoming traffic's attention and the additional light during early morning riding. However, they probably aren't as bright as most aftermarket lights because they are truly meant as fog lights, not driving lights. If you want the brightest, go with something else.

You should be able to see them in my sig pic if you are still considering the HD fog lights.

HD's fog lamp kit is the best lighting value available IMO. Had them on my bike for 4years until I installed the vented lowers and installed Morolights.

Personally, I don't ride nearly as much at night as I do in daylight and installed these lights and kept them "on" at all times for conspicuity in the heavy suburban Atlanta surface and interstate roads.

Yes, the Motolights were expensive, especially the chrome I purchased after doing the front end forks. At least one guy here came up with a similar tear drop light purchase at Wal-Mart and mounted them on his engine guar with lowers.

a smaller size Ridgid spot light fits nicely between the forks mounted up where the two brake lines come together with a screw fastener on my Ultra. I checked with two HD mechanics who told me the bumper will come up and hit the light. so off it went. too bad, I thought I had a cheap aux light.
