Default 1990 flhtcu inner batwing fairing

so I got some new handlebars I'm going to be installing this weekend and I can find tons of info on New Street glides and classics for removing the inner fairing but I can't find anything on the older ones. I know it's going to be a pain, but is anyone up tips for one that old?

Had mine off on the old 89 twice. If you do not have a factory manual, it will be difficult to impossible to find a step by step on the internet for you.

If no manual, I'd reccomend taking pics of how it all goes together and mark your connections so you know what is what.

Unplug the elelctrical connections to the gauges, undo the speedo cable to the instrument cluster, remove radio, remove instrument cluster, remove ignition switch, the plastic cover under the ignition switch and then you can take off the inner fairing.

Sorry it is a general a description, but it's been a long time since I removed it and I had the factoiry manual at the time to reference all the details.

Cool

The manual is still available, I only posted details earlier today in another thread: service manual 1984-90 is 99483-90 and parts catalogue 1987-90 is 99450-90A. Call in on the Evo section, where you will find plenty of Evo owners. I've owned my 1990 since new.
