On a 95 eelctra glide what do i have to pull to get to the bar clamp? Just outer fairing or radio as well? Anyway to do it without opening the fairing through through ignition switch etc? Nothing in the HD service manual about removing bars
I have done it by removing the top of Ign switch and cover and the radio.
It was job but got it done, a couple of cut allen wrenchs needle nose vice grips. It's been to long to remember the particulars of it. I think the manual said to remove inner fairing. I didn't want to go that far doing what I needed.
Now this was on a 97 EG I need to mention.
Time to break out the chop saw again (just kidding)
Yeah was looking at parts breakdown book on 95 model and it almost looks like my ignition switch cover is part of the inner fairing and not a separate piece. haha right this is looking like a bit of work
Pulling the inner fairing on mine was a lot work (repaint)
Hope somebody knows a good shortcut for ya.
Did see an ultra with the bars being change (90 sumptin) and they had the inner fairing supported with straps to a rafter so as not to have to remove the whole fairing. That's what I was told when I asked.

Your 95 is like my 94. Remove outer fairing and pull the radio out and you'll have access to the handlebar clamp to swap bars, etc. Pull the radio chassis it slides into out too. Four allen heads behind the rubber edge of chassis for radio.

Griz
Exactly how it is on my '91. Last weekend I put a stereo in and had access to the clamp again. I moved my apes as far up and forward as possible. Amazing what another 1.5" made to my hand position. I Like!
