Default Ignorance about Forks Maint

I've always heard that ignorance is bliss........Such is the case with me and my '03 RK Classic....I've 58,000 miles and looking back at all my service/maint records, I can't find where there has been anything done to the forks. .......It's going to the indy for tires and brakes pretty soon......based upon what I've read, the forks most likely need a little love and attention......I think it rides and handles pretty good....Is ignaorance really bliss???? What should I have done to them? Will it make a big difference in ride and handling? No need to beat on me due to my ignorance.....I do that enough to myself.....Thanks in advance for your input/insight/opinions!

The biggest thing is are the seals leaking? This is a easy job just youtube it, you don't have a fairing so makes life easy.

At e very least it needs now fork oil in them. May need new bushings as well. Those parts are cheap though.

Nothing is leaking....that I can see.....And as far as I know it rides and handles OK....However, this is the only bike I've been on since 2003, so I guess it could be riding/handling bad and I've jsut gotten accustumed to it and don't know it's bad......I'd never really give the forks any thought until I read a few threads on here about them.

I am in the same boat. I have no idea if my front forks have had the oil changed. I have had it for the last 20k.

I am going to swap out them to black and have them rebuilt at an indy when I hit 60k on the clock.
