engine and battery lamp
i have a 2007 ultra with about 44k and i am having the engine lamp stay on for about 10 to 15 seconds after start up, occasionally it will stay on for a few seconds longer. Sometimes the battery lamp and engine lamp will come on at the same time after start up and go out at about the same time, the bike is running great with no starting problems. the gauge shows that everything is charging ok, the bike fires right up with no issues. I'm just concerned that i might be at the begining of a problem electrally and am looking for advice. i put a new battery in after the original lasted 5 years only because it was getting old and i didn't want to be stranded because of an old battery. so , am i looking at a potential voltage reg. or stator problem in the early stages? thanks , i need all the advice i can get!

Did you check the battery connections since this problem began?
I know you said you replaced the battery, but you didn't indicate when. First thing to do is check the connections at the battery, on any type of electrical problem.

went out and rechecked all power connections and all were clean and tight. i took the bike for a ride today. what is going on is when i start the bike the engine light will stay on for a bout 15-20 seconds and then go off. oil level is right where it should be. some times, but not all the time the battery light will come on at ignition and go out about 10 seconds after the engine light goes out. i did have the battery lamp come on once while i was riding but stayed on for about 10 seconds and then go off. this has happened only once in the last couple of months. could this be a bad ground somewhere in the system or just the nature of the beast?
