GO Classic!
I have a 09 street glide, get the classic. Then quick detach for the tour-pak and there you go, best of both with better suspension. Probably best to strip all the shiny crap off as well so you can spend less time cleaning and more riding.

I've had three Ultras and loved each one. Love the tour pak but love the look with out it. Just too much trouble detaching it with all the extras on the Ultra.
I looked at the SG and EGC and went with the Classic, added the detach and relocated license plate below the tail light. Laydown LED tail light too. I can slip the tour pak on for trips.
