Thumbs up Exhaust question.

Hello cool people,
I got my 2013 Road King candy orange/beer bottle, ABS & cruise control last weekend. I'm in love with this bike. I was wondering if any of u fellas can tell me which exhaust will get more botton & mid range power off my 103? Plz keep in mind that I don't want to do any sort of fuel tuning plus, I want it to be a quite one. My neighbors would appreciate that.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Best regards,
Newton.

If you don't want to go with a tuner and want a quiet exhaust your choices are limited depending on your definition of quiet. V&H monster rounds or ovals are quiet but I am not sure you will notice much more power. If you want a noticeable improvement in power you will need to go with a stage 1 setup.

Yes, without a new intake and a tune, just putting mufflers will give you little more then a change in sound, and not performance.

Stage 1 would be changing the mufflers, adding a high flow air cleaner and either having HD tune the bike or buying a tuner (I would suggest purchasing a tuner like the Power Vision). A tuner would allow you to make any changes you want in the future and re-tune the bike yourself.

Choosing an exhaust is difficult to suggest to someone. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want loud, I would go with American Custom (gutted stock) mufflers. For power I have had multiple tuners tell me that they prefer the Bassani Megaphone pipes. The Bassani's are much quieter, open up when on the throttle but not much louder than stock at an idle.

I would recommend either the BUB Straight 8 Stealth or BUB 7 Stealth mufflers. I've had a set of both on my last 2 bikes and they have been by far the best mufflers ever. Nice low rumble but not loud. I've had almost every muffler on my various Harleys over the years and didn't want loud anymore. The Stealths are the real deal. With a Stage 1 A/C and a PowerCommander I got some decent numbers and power gains with them. Plus they are stamped 50 state EPA legal. Both the Straight 8 and 7's are 4" cans. 7's have the slash cut.

I have a new 110th Anniversary Road King and plan to put the BUB Straight 8 Stealths on it. Only problem is getting them. I've been in contact with Anthony at Phat Performance Parts and they can order them from BUB. They are not cheap but worth every penny. Phat can get them shipped to you for around $615 - 630 depending on which ones you get. Here are the parts numbers:

BUB Straight 8 Stealth chrome w/classic black end caps #05-7093-CB1

BUB 7 Stealth chrome w/black end caps #05-7038CB

Below is a pic of my previous RK with the Straight 8 Stealths.

Call fuel moto and talk to them. They are a sponsor and would have everything you need.

Here's the link to the BUB 7 Stealths at Phat Performance parts. They don't show the Straight 8 Stealths but can get them if you ask.

And here's a You tube clip of the BUB 7 Stealths.
