Moving from a Super Glide to the EG has been exciting in many ways.
One is the extra 100 or so pounds to heft around when parking, etc.
The other is the difference in Rake. It seems that the EG turns much quicker than the Super.
EG is Rake Steering Head/Trail 26.0º / 6.2 in
The Super was Rake Steering Head/Trail 29.0º / 4.7 in.
I Cant imagine going from a Wige Glide with all the rake it has to the EG. That would really be a change.
After a week of riding to work every day, I'm getting used to it and finding that even though it is a big bike and made for the road, it handles amazingly well in the streets too.
Hi Mike. I got a 01' Ultra and noticed real quick about the rake. Feels funny at first, but you get used to it quick. It sure makes these big baggers nimble though.[8D]
Mike
Know what you mean about the move to the EG with the different rake. I still have my Deuce which might be going up for sale, hard discission. After riding the EG, when I ride the Deuce I feel as though I'm pushing it through the turns.
Overall I really like the EG, it can be a bit to handle slow speed manuvering. If were going to ride two up, I have it pointed in the right direction before the wife climbs aboard and have the jiffy stand down. [sm=goodidea.gif]
I just went from a Wide-Glide to an Ultra a month ago. Yeah! It's definitely different, but I expected that. Although it's way heavier, I *do* like the way it handles, except in my gravel driveway.
went from a '96 lowrider to a 99 rkclasic (back in Oct. 98) which now has 68k miles. love the road king! liked the lowrider too but it really wanted to go straight, where the RK just falls into corners. thnik handling of rk much better, just some extrra lbs at low speed. my .02. good luck!
fwiw, am now wrestling with trading in rkc for new EGstd. at 16k for egstd, would cost 6k if stealer really gives 10k trADE IN. OR local indy shop will do 95"w/heads for $3900. still have original cam situation. what do you guys think?
