Thumbs up Saddlebags Secure

Well, more than those twisty pop things.

I used 3/8 hardware. It seemed more secure than 5/16.
They were a snug fit. The 3/8 fender nuts we had at work
were pretty stout.

I used couple allens, one torx and one hex bolt. And lock nuts
on two of them. Not that it would (stop) a thief, but it
would sure slow em down. They sure as h___ ain't gonna come
off on the freeway.

I'm also thinking of changing those 1/4-20 bolts that hold the
saddlebag brkts. Maybe to allen or? Someone could take em
just by un-doing those.

If you use 1" bolts they can't be unscrewed unless you can open the lid.

Cool

Several months ago a fellow forum member that signs in as "rwhisen" showed us a set of bag hardware that he made on his C&C machine. I ordered a set from him and I'm extremely happy with the results. Really good quality, substantial hardware.
Send him a note. I think you'll be pleased.

That's what I did today, $4.00 to replace one on each bag.

Same here. Mine were a bit more though. I think I have 12 bucks wrapped up in them.
