Fairing speaker help
Do you know the RMS and efficiency ratings of the Boom Audio speakers? (I'm sure these numbers are kept in Harley's Top Secret vault).
A friend of mine ran them with and without an amp and in both cases, trying to turn them up enough to hear "clearly" at highway speed, they began distorting.
I replaced the BA speakers with the Polk MM651's running off just the Harley head unit. I was surprised when he said that this was better than the BA's hooked to the amp. I then connected the Polks to his amp and after a short test ride, he came back all smiles.
I do not know sir and yes that information is about scarce as J&M speaker specs are.
I didn't say they were good and I think anyone that knows me knows that I don't regard BA equipment any higher than I do the Boss Audio crap you buy at Walmart.
There is NO comparison whatsoever with the Polks (even the cheap ones) and BA. Hands down for quality, power handling, clarity, and sound separation goes to Polk no doubt.
