So, how do you stop mice from building nests in your bike?
I used to have a genuine H-D dust cover over it, but the mice chewed it up and made a nest out of it. They chewed up the wiring harness and they stored about four table spoons of Decon in the left muffler.
I keep the bike in the shed with the other seasonal stuff. I have one of those very loud ultrasonic things plugged in. The contents of a box of mothballs strewn around. Open bags of varmit bait and I have sealed the shed so well that I could use it as a drark room. So there has been no sign of them this year, but jeez, you literally can't give them an inch.
Somebody told me to mix cianne pepper with silicone and coat the wires with it, so I did.
ride all year long. last week road 3 milesjanuary 300 miles.
seriuosly had mice behind my store. tried everything. then got that stuff thats in a little box that they eat and take back to the nest. Its been a year now and not a squeak in the house.

RE: Mice
I have mice in my garage also, and because of where I live (Lake Erie snowbelt) I have no choice but to leave the bike parked for most of the winter. I've always stuck scented Bounce dryer sheets here and there in, on, and around the bike. Supposedly the mice can't stand the smell. Five winters and no mice in my bike. You might want to give that a try.
Cats work for me, but then again, I ride year round when the weather permits. The cover may hamper more than help. Mice love to do their deeds in dark covered areas.
well i have heard that if you put a few dryer Bounce sheets around the motorcycle it will keep the critters away. I was told this by people that own campers and other vehicles with this problem. Its worth a shot and won't cost much. Mouse traps around the bottom would work also. Other than that a cat.
