Nope. But I do wear a quality 3/4 helmet with face shield.

I finally bit the bullet and got an acc beanie. They were dot certified until about 2 years ago. Apparently they 'met' dot certification but did not 'exceed' dot so they lost the dot stamp. They are an interwoven mix of carbon fiber and kevlar. It's the lowest profile and lightest I have ever seen. They use to be in Florida, and they would custom fit them if you went to their store. When I ordered mine, it didn't fit right. I called and they said they could make it 'shaped' different if I would send it back. So I did. It's now a perfect fit. At 140 some odd dollars, it's the most expensive lid I've ever owned, but it's by far the most comfortable lid I've ever owned as well.....

Are the folks concerned about helmet weight so feeble that it impairs their enjoyment of riding the bike?

I'm an old fart and have done several IBA certified rides, routinely do 600+ mile days during trips and never felt any helmet related fatigue.

So, I don't get the interest in who has the lightest helmet. Educate me.

Carl

PS--I wear 3/4 helmet, though I did buy a 1/2 helmet and did not like it.

I always thought that to be DOT approved, the padding inside had to be a minimum of 1.25 inches or something there abouts? That's what gives DOT helmets that mushroom head look but also the required DOT protection? I guess I was wrong?

Difficult to believe the same head will fit in all three!

As far as light and lowest profile goes. Neck and back pain are common for me because I wear a Helmet at work and usually has a set of NVGs attached to it. And a counter weight to the back or a large battery pack.

I also have to stick my head out into the wind while flying Aircraft and it bumps and jossels my neck. I like a lightweight, low profile helmet because it saves my neck in the wind and does not compress my head down when riding.

That is a pretty decent compromise to a novelty helmet!
