High winds definitely blows...NE has way too many windy days. Blow-over @ home is at least a fixable wreck...sucky lesson to learn, but maybe take advantage & do some custom work on the bike. Good time to really make it yours.

Was the bike lowered? Parked on a slope?

I ask because I've never heard of a bike blowing over in the wind.

I hate to think about dropping mine, but if the bike has to go down, better its just the bike and not you with it.

I think if it was me, I'd be looking at some custom paint right about now...

Just recently there was a thread about bikes blowing over. Apparently it happens a fair amount.

When I had a repair done on my bike the dealer told me 6 - 8 weeks for painted parts. At the same time they gave me a copy of the damage estimate with part numbers. I looked online and found the parts at Surdyke.com for 20% less and shipped in 2 weeks.

Oh it surely happens, my bike blew over in the wind 2 years ago. We live out in the country, i came home, parked the bike in front of the garage cause it was a sunny day and i planned on going back out later. an hour later, a county cop pulled in the driveway, i thought what the hell is there a cop here for? He said he was driving by and just happened to look over and see my bike on it's side in front of the garage, asked me if i needed help picking it up. One of my very few positive experiences with a cop. He was a great guy.

Yeah, the wind would definitely blow one over out here in eastern CO.
When I had the left saddle bag detach and hit the asphalt I didn't even try to repair it. Turned it into my insurance and got another new one with factory paint. See how the adjuster treats you and go from there, but factory is you best bet.
I know some people like the clean look of no crash bars, but they serve a purpose. Kind of like taking the bumpers off of your car.
