Default dropped my street glide

Yesterday my bike was outside my garage warming up. with it being very windy out yesterday some how my bike blew over on the right side. Got the bike at the end of the riding season last year and the prior owner took the crash bars off so the bike got some damage when it fell. Its a 2009 Sun Glo Red street glide. the fender recieved a good chip fair got a good scrape handle bars bent bag broke and some other stuff but my question is, will harley send new body parts (fairing fender and bag ) already painted to me. Seems to me that this color is a difficult color to match. my next questions is does anyone know a good paint shop in New Hampshire or Vermont that could paint the bike the RIGHT way

Thanks

you can order color matched parts from H-D.

pricey, but correct.

get a list of parts you need and check the classifieds here- sun glo red is not uncommon and a fair number of riders swap to extended bags etc, so the stockers are up for sale

you could always "cheat" and do a 2 tone or other contrasting color over the damaged areas- especially if the plastic is still good.

even a bra on the fairing.

I like my crash bars, I had my FXR roll over on me from the wind once, and got hit on my evo bagger...crashbars saved my leg

As a matter of fact, I'm going to list some of my stock parts for sale in about 2 weeks as I have some aftermarket fenders (front and back) and saddlesbags getting a repaint. I'll be selling the Ember Red Sunglo stock front and rear fender and both bags and lids without hardware/latches. So if you're still looking in a couple of weeks, keep your eyes open in the for sale forum.

If it was me and I was in your situation I would let Harley do the painting on the new parts. They keep records and paint schemes for everything they do. I understand from people who have toured their plants that the paint shop is off limits to everyone. Very high tech and albeit top secret. Their paint jobs are as good as it gets, but there is a price to be paid. It takes a long time 6-8 weeks at best and they are very ($$$) proud of their work. Some guys will chime in that "I got my fender out in 2 weeks" but that would be the exception to the rule.
This is just one opinion, there will be others.

the ember red is not the same as red hot sunglo.

RHSG was popular in 2009-

just go the classifieds and search for "red hot"

Sorry to hear bro....If it was me, I would get whatever color replacement parts I could find used and then repaint the bike with a custom paint job!!!!

Not trying to be a wisea$$, but have you thought about putting the crash bars back on?

If you have an adjuster coming, let him handle it. Chances are he will tell you it take it to the dealer to get fixed. That way you get guaranteed work (including paint match) and new parts where needed. That's what you pay your premiums for.

Best of luck getting it taken care of. I'm glad the bike went down without you on it - seriously. Ride safe.
