Every painted surface on my Softail was keyed last fall. Took it to the dealer for an estimate. Insurance company got the estimate for new color-matched factory parts and tried to get me to take it to a custom painter instead citing that it would be cheaper.
I insisted that I wanted stock paint/graphics. Insurance Company sent me a check for new factory color matched pieces to include the RK hard bags that I installed with a cycle-visions kit.
Was lucky to find a brand new tin set on ebay in the exact year and color for $700 shipped. Nice little profit for me which I promptly used as a down payment on a new RK.
My bike was blown over a few years ago in a horrific storm so I feel your pain. Don't take this wrong but do you thing you will be putting an engine guard on it now? They are great for other reasons than just a place to hang highway pegs.
I mean no disespect but how the heck can the wind -- short of a tornado -- blow over an 850 lb bike unless it was parked on the side of a hill? I also have an '09 Streetglide in RHSG and it's a grunt to get it off the stand.

Same question. Truly, I'm sorry this happened to you. And I believe the other guys who say this happens. It is just hard to believe a strong wind can tip over a leaning 850 lbs bike.
Yesterday my bike was outside my garage warming up. with it being very windy out yesterday some how my bike blew over on the right side. Got the bike at the end of the riding season last year and the prior owner took the crash bars off so the bike got some damage when it fell. Its a 2009 Sun Glo Red street glide. the fender recieved a good chip fair got a good scrape handle bars bent bag broke and some other stuff but my question is, will harley send new body parts (fairing fender and bag ) already painted to me. Seems to me that this color is a difficult color to match. my next questions is does anyone know a good paint shop in New Hampshire or Vermont that could paint the bike the RIGHT way
Thanks
You can order them pre painted from Harley or fix what you have. Here's one of the best home based little shops in Vermont. The local Harley dealer uses this shop also to repaint damage on brand new bikes. Good Luck
If the wind blew over your 800 lb bike on the kickstand... it might have been the best thing that ever happened to you I don't think I would want to be in that cross wind at 55mph
Not too long ago there was another similar thread. A guy said he had his Harley parked in the parking lot at work and a storm kicked up and a strong cross wind blew the bike over. He had some pictures of it laying up against a car next to it. I thought the same thing however, must have been one heck of a strong gust to blow over a bagger? Possibly the kick stand just sunk in either gravel or hot tar? That I have seen a time or two.
I have had one of my Buell's fall over while on a kickstand. However, it was so hot that the metal from kickstand actually heated the asphalt up so much that the stand literally sank into the asphalt and gravity took care of the rest!!

dont know how far you are from Nashua, but call Jamie at the service desk of Nashua HD, 16035789400 there is a paint shop right down the road that paints and color matches, bro they do fantastic work, i saw their work first hand, they painted my tour pack BBP for my former street glide it was smack dead mirror imaged as the harley stuff, i also seen them do a Hoppes fairing for a deluxe, matched the paint, trimming and all. it was great work, and their prices are decent.. my tour pack set me back 350 for painting
