I recall that post. Cutting the window isn't the problem, but I would still have to take the pipe off to run it to a welder. I figured by the time I did all that, it would make more sense just to buy and install a gutted pipe. Still contemplating the paddle bit.
I was kinda afraid of the paddle or something like that. If you leave any of the small particles in there, there is a chance it could be sucked back into the exhaust valve, really mucking up stuff. I bought a gutted used header for mine, no problem, no worry.

Once again, there is NO WAY for particles to get to the exhaust valve unless you hang the bike from the back wheel and shake it. Reversion is a SMALL pulse.
Wow it took me all day on a Saturday but I cleaned it up real nice so none of the flakes bounced around in there.......I would give $99 for a gutted header, wish I had the money, I would buy dans 09 header..never have enough @#$%&

You're right. Between your thread and now this one, I don't know why people keep bringing this up.
pulled off header last night, cut window, scraped all the SHEEt out.... dropped off at muffler shop at lunch and picking up when i get off here in an hour.
Total time I spent - 45mins to an hour including reinstall, plus the time the welder takes - hes chargin me a 12 ppack of STAG.
