power vision A/T
I got my power vision installed today and with the map that was supplied by Fuel Moto I definitely need to run the auto tune. Can anyone tell me how long it takes or better yet how far I may need to ride to give the auto tune a chance of data logging enough information to iron out the bugs so I can load a revised map. Got some popping going on & its running very rich at the moment.

Generaly do 20 minute at runs trying to hit as many cells as you can. Try to get changes down to 5% or less, it could take quite a few runs depending on you setup and how close the base map is.

There is a video on Dynajet website on how to use the Autotune Basic that I would suggest if you haven't done it before. The autotune will make changes as you ride so you will know when you are making headway. Make sure you run in the problem areas enough to get them fixed. 30 to 50 miles worked for me. The FM maps tend to be a little rich, but the popping is lean. Make sure your O2's are hooked up. If after a couple of runs and you don't get the results you can call FM for suggestions. If you did some changes to the bike before installing the PV suchas True duals or 2-1 or cams that could be some of the problem. The exhaust can make it pop around 2500 to 3000 rpms. Cams will make it rich in low end area. If it is deceleration popping I doubt the autotune will catch that. May catch it I haven't had that problem so don't know. After you setup your auto tune make sure you select Datalog on the AT page when you start your engine or want to start the tuning session. You have to do this each time you turn the engine off. It won't record or make changes until it is warmed up. Once you are satisfied you need to export the autotune. I wouldn't over write the FM tune. Then you flash the new custom tune to ecm and you are done. Make sure to disable the auto tune once you are done. If you post again tell us what you setup is and may can help. Year and model and modifications that effect tuning.

It will probably take several data log runs to get things right. Do an auto tune session, save it to a slot, then load THAT map and do an auto tune session, save it to a slot, load THAT tune...you get the picture. Doubtful that you'll be done with just one run.

Good advise. I just got the Power Vision for my Breakout. I loaded the Fuel Moto MAP and Autotuned it. I was told to take at least a 20 min drive. After my 20min run, the bike ran a lot better just about all the popping was gone. I'm reading here that it will take several runs for Autotune to work best. Question I have is, do I start over and Autotune the FM MAP again or do I Re-Autotune the Autotuned MAP that I just saved and loaded in the ECM. In other words I keep the same autotune and just keep autotuning it over and over? Is that correct, if so I think that would make more sense. I have my autotune saved in slot 3, so once I have completed an Autotune session, I will resave that learned MAP in the same slot, right?

I will make sure I re-save the updated Autotuned MAPs to a new slot each time. And once I know for your it's not running worse but better, I will transfer the previous MAP to my computer.
