Started all of a sudden. Shifter is so stiff, sometimes have to like stomp on it to downshift. All fluids are at correct levels. Clutch cable adjusted tight.
Start there, by disconnecting the linkage and see if the shifter shaft/bushings are bound up. If they are free, pop the top off the transmission and pull the shift drum out. Check the shift drum bearings, manually slide the shift forks, and check the shifting pawl (while the shift drum is removed from the transmission). After that, it's pulling the gear set out and checking the gears/bearings...
