Default Scratch-X on hard bags?

Folks - I have a scuff I'd like to try to buff out - but I dont want to wreck my bags.

I think paint is paint, whether on metal or plastic, but I thought I'd see if anyone has used this product on bags.... THANKS!

Yes! And it works well.

I also use Meguiar's "Ultimate Compound", "Ultimate Polish" and "Ultimate Wax".

A general rule of thumb is to use the least aggressive product that will give the desired result. I always use the polish first. If that's not enough then the compound, followed by the polish before applying the wax.

On the scale of aggressiveness, the Scratch X is about the same as the Ultimate Compound.

And is it pretty much, just follow directions for your desired results?

Kinda got the same thing going on my bags.

I love Meguires products but I have found this to be the best at what your looking to do. Great at getting rid of scratches or polishing the whole bike for that matter.

You can buy it allot cheaper on Amazon

Keith, Meguiars works excellent for what you're up against ... It takes a bit of Elbow Grease ( not on the bags,of course ) to work it out and then a bit of polish, followed by a coat of good wax. Remember that the wax provides a layer of protection while also filling any minimal surface scratches.

Ditto on what has already been said. Also, there is an older version of scratch-x and a newer version. The older version is a little more aggressive, and Imo, works better. The newer version will work, but requires more time/pressure to achieve the same results. Scratch doctor in the orange bottle works good too, but is even less aggressive than the new version of scratch-x. Work the scratches out under some good fluorescent lights as they help the scratches to stand out a little better. Good luck!

Scratch X worked well for me on a VROD I picked up with lots of swirls. Didn't happend the first time out, but over several efforts it looked much better. Also a believer in Meguires products but I already had a bunch of Scratch X. Followup with a polish and wax and you should be good to go.
