first one i did i used a small dental mirror and light, it gets it all out. done 5 of these this way and i'm getting faster at it. while you do need to take you time and make sure you get it all out, the little bit of left over glue isn't going to hurt a thing. i also use a long pry bar to scrape the inside to make sure it's clean.

Thanks to the OP for the write-up. I finally decided I'd had enough of the excessive heat, but I didn't want to cut up my pipe. (personal choice, no flames necessary) I can't believe how well this method worked! At first I went slow and didn't seem to make any progress....by the end I was whipping that bit all over the place. Took me 3 hours from start to finish since I had never had the exhaust off before.

3 hours is really good time if you count removal and reinstall of all pipes, hdwr and shields.

Good job.

I am glad I had this done. I just went the coupon way since I was already at my muffler shop.
