Okay looking in the manual it shows the grey plug as the front one (one the right closest to the front of the bike) but on my bike it is towards the rear and the black one is towards the front. In that case I'm guessing the black plug is the front sensor on my bike? or s

Don't confuse the plug locations under the side cover.
Under the cover, the grey is the rear one and the black is in front.
They are color coded to match the connections. Grey to Grey and Black to Black.

BUT, the grey plug wire goes to the O2 sensor in the pipe coming from the front cylinder.
The black plug goes to the O2 sensor in the pipe coming from the rear cylinder.
