I just had my inner fairing painted and re-installed it but now for some reason the Speedometer and the Tachometer don't work. What did I do wrong?
The plugs for both seemed hard to insert but the snaps when on and I checked to see that the slots were aligned.
HELP!!!
What did you do wrong? Simple ... you f-cked with it. [:-]
Just kidding.
If the plugs were hard to insert are you certain you have them oriented correctly? Remove them and check the shape of the sockets. Do you get instrument lights or do they just not register when the engine is running or the bike is moving?

I found the problem...I'm an idiot! I looked at the figure in the service manual and it was from the front of the bike and so I installed my speedo and tach in the wrong openings, reversed. I was taking the outer fairing back off to check the connections and saw a figure from the rear of the fairings and noticed that I had them swapped. I swapped them back to their proper postions and bingo the connectors went right in.
No, I wasn't drinking just getting old I guess! [&:][&:][&:]
